So Grateful ~ Power Poppy

Hello, hello, hello!!  I'm back again with another Power Poppy creation.   For today's card,  I hauled out a Fall set, from last year, called So Grateful.  I just love the chair with the pumpkin arrangement on it, and thought it would be fun to color the chair red.  I added some grass with my Copics, as well as a sky, and also a sweet little tag with just the word "grateful" from the sentiment "so grateful".

That's it.  Easy peasy.

Thank for dropping by y'all!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  We're finally looking at some 70 degree weather after lingering in the 90's lately.  I'm ready for Fall's arrival, that's for sure!!

Happy Stamping!!

Coloring outside the lines with Power Poppy's Coneflowers

Hello creative friends!!  Friday has rolled around again, and I have yet another Power Poppy card to share with you that I made using two digital images:  Easy Breezy Coneflowers, and Dancing with Daffodils.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2016/09/coloring-outside-lines-mini-challenge.html
Marcella is challenging us with a unique and super fun Power and Sparklette challenge this week.  We are to "Color Outside the Lines", and I must admit, I had to step out of my comfort zone for this one.

I love the textured look of using Copics with a Blending Solution soaked material, but have not had success with it in the past.  So this time I was determined.  And to my delight I was happy with the results on my very first try.  Especially since it took me quite awhile to color the background.

I started by printing out my image and diecutting it using Spellbinders' Labels 25 die.  I left the image in the die while coloring so I would have a nice clean border.  Well, my border didn't stay super clean, but the distressing I did, using a piece of burlap and Copic Blending Solution made it acceptable I think.  After using the Blending Solution, I used RV10 to color in some of the white spaces.

Below is what it looked like before coloring the Coneflowers.  I LOVE charcoal sketches, (and have a few in my collection) so I was really drawn to this look.  However, last week I created a card with white "Black Eyed Susans", so I thought I would be cheating if I did that again.  *grin*

I still like this look though...*wink*

That's it for me today.  I hope I've encouraged y'all to get creative, and step out of your box and color outside the lines.  The winner will receive every set in the Power Poppy 2016 Holiday Clear Stamp Collection when they debut in October.  Now that's an INCREDIBLE prize...let me tell you!!!

Black-Eyed Susan ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Hello creative friends!!  I'm finally back to share another Power Poppy card with you!  It's featuring a new digital image called Black-Eyed Susan.  I took creative liberty and made mine white with a mottled gray background.  I started coloring it with yellows, oranges and deep reds and just wasn't feeling it.  So white they are.  I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the stamen tips too.  Unfortunately, as always, it doesn't photograph well.  I wanted this card to be for my daughter's birthday, so instead of using the sentiments that come with this set (they are fabulous by-the-way), I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Power Poppy Go Wild clear set.

For my card base, I embossed a panel and added some Pure Platinum Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to give it a gilded effect.  It has just the right amount of shine in real life.

I colored some black stamens with a Silver Leafing Pen (Krylon), so they would match the flower stamens in the image a bit better, and added it to a seam binding bow.

CopicsFlower ~ BV31, N5, N3, N1  Leaves ~ BG96, BG93, BG90, YG11, Background ~ N7, N3, N3, N1, N0

That's it for me.

Well Hello Dahlia digital ~ Power Poppy

Hi everyone!!  I have a Power Poppy project to share with you today, and it's not even Friday!!  Go figure!!  Well, it is the 5th of Sept. and Power Poppy releases digital images "on the 5's", so today, I decided to join along with some of the Instant Gardeners!!  Marcy has remixed this darling Dahlia image and the new digital set is called "Well Hello Dahlia!"  Isn't that just adorable?!?!?!  It's made up of 3 images and 2 sentiments, and they are just charming and super fun to color!  I decided to make mine into a gift set and colored up two images: one for the card, and one for the gift-box tag.  You know I like me some vintage, so I based these beautiful images with Tales of You and Me Prima paper, along with two elegant dies:  Victorian Bow and Tapestry (Spellbinders).  This silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon store.  It drapes so beautifully.

The box was made with a fun diecut by Tonic called Diamond Favour Squeeze Box.  It has 17 dies, is adorable and has a variety of options to diecut or emboss.  I used the single vase from the Well Hello Dahlia set, along with a Birthday sentiment from the Clear set called Party Time for my tag.

I also added some sparkle to the card and gift tag using a Quickie Glue Pen along with some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (Stampin' Up!)

Here's a close up of that a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e single vase.  Isn't it sweet?
