My English Rose ~ Power Poppy February Release Day

The day has finally arrived!!  Power Poppy's newest release called Grow Everyday!  What an awesome title!  Growing every day is something we can all aspire to do.

For today's release hop, I decided to use the single rose from the My English Rose set.  Marcella sure knows how to draw her roses!!  I think this baby is exquisite.  I decided to go plum with my color scheme and was really happy with how the image turned out.  However (before I assembled the card), my husband said, "Isn't it a bit dark?  It looks like a death rose.".  Yikes!!  I was going for a vintage feel, so hopefully the diecuts, papers and lace pulled it out of its dark hole.  The "Friends" sentiment is from the Folk Heart set.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto X-Press It cs, colored with Copics, and distressed with Antique Linen Distress Inks.

If you haven't already, be sure to visit all the Bloom Brigaders for one last inspirational stop, and then of course, Power Poppy to shop.  :)

Copics:  V99, V95, V91, G28, G24, G20, YG95, YG21

That's it for this release.  I hope you've enjoyed the previews as much as I enjoyed working with these sets!!

Happy Stamping!

Blooming Wonderful ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/bloomin-wonderful/
The last of this month's new Clear Stamp releases by Power Poppy is being previewed today friends, and it's called Blooming Wonderful!!  The name is absolutely perfect too!

I have quite a variety of bird cages, nests and birds throughout my home, so when I saw this image with a nest in a wreath...my heart soared!!  Isn't it absolutely charming?  I wanted to give a soft feet to it, so I stamped it with Walnut Stain Distress ink instead of my "go-to" Tuxedo Black (Memento), and colored it with Copics.  I added a few white dots to the eggs and flower centers with my Signo gel pen too.

For some more inspiring creations, check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share:

Small but Mighty Magnets ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/small-but-mighty-affirmations/
Hello friends!!  Have you been enjoying the Power Poppy previews?  I know...Marcella has done it again!!  What a fabulous new release, eh?

Well, today we are featuring a set filled with a wonderful variety of encouraging, beautifully written sentiments!!!  It's called Small but Mighty Affirmations.  I couldn't choose just one to make a card with, so I decided to make them into magnets for my fridge.  They would also make great gifts to encourage a friend, or your kids.  I was just thinking I could have used more shapes too, like hearts, stars and even squares for a variety.

Watercolor is all the rage right now, so I took some Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock, spritzed it thoroughly with water, and then added my Distress Spray Stains:  Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade together, and Peacock Feathers with Twisted Citron.  I then diecut two different sizes of circles (Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles ~ JustRite), stamped the inspirational sentiments with Versamark, embossed them with Detailed Black ep (Ranger), and added Glossy Accents (Ranger) over each one to make them shiny.  They look even more bold and brilliant irl.  Oh...I also diecut adhesive backed magnets with the same dies and adhered the sentiment circles to them.  Voila...easy-peasy!!

That about sums today's project up.  For some more inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs:
Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll drop by tomorrow for another fabulous Power Poppy Preview!

Hello my creative friends!!  I'm back with another Power Poppy preview.  Today the Bloom Brigaders are sharing their creations featuring a new set called Folk Heart.  And as usual with Marcella's designs, it oozes charm.  I mean look at that sweet bird surrounded by a lovely heart wreath!  Who can resist it?  My heart melted when I saw it.

I know...I did it again.  I used bold colors.  It's just that when I saw this image I thought of Mary Engelbreit, thus the black background with bright colors.

The image is colored with Copics, and I added the "Friend" sentiment to the edge of the heart.

Planning for Magnolias with Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/planning-for-magnolias/
Howdy!!  Hope you are as excited as I am for Power Poppy's newest releases!!  Today we're previewing the set called Planning for Magnolias!  I has a beautiful branch of Magnolias, lovely and fun coordinating sentiments, and this super fun planner.

Now, my daughter LOVES cards with bright colors.  Me...well...I lean more toward soft neutrals with a shabby chic style.  But when I saw this planner, I thought...I CAN DO THIS!!  I am going to color it all in bright colors so I can mail it off to her (she's 2000 miles away attending college).  Thus the bold papers and colors.

The image is colored with Copics, and I used a Sweet Sunday Sketch (224) for inspiration.

I stamped the image twice, colored and cut out the flower, burnished it and popped it up for some extra dimension.

That's it for me today, y'all!!  Now, if you haven't already, you really must visit the rest of the Bloom Brigade for some more inspiration.  And also, the Power Poppy Blog.  Marcella is sharing some beautiful memories about her mother and her inspiration.

Magnolia Sunshine and a challenge with Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/
Happy Friday my creative friends!!!  I'm excited to share a couple of Power Poppy cards with you today.

Power Poppy is buzzing this week!!!  First off, Marcella is introducing a new digital image called Magnolia Sunshine

This bouquet is filled with some of Marcy's mother's favorite flowers, and is a delightful burst of Spring!!  I made mine a bit large and diecut a portion of it.  It's colored with Copics and sprinkled with a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!).  I used the A2 Divine Eloquence die, as well as Labels 28 (Spellbinders) to frame the image and added some Shabby White Embossing Enamel (Stampendous) to it, as well as some Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh).  Stop by the Power Poppy Blog to see what the Instant Gardeners have to share, as well as my fellow Bloomie, Christine!!

Since this is the first Friday of the month, Power Poppy is introducing a new Power and Spark challenge by Ally.  She's challenging us to "Switch up our Shades".  That means, she wants us to use a different coloring medium than we usually do.  Since I tend to go straight for my Copics, I decided to use my Distress Markers for my next card.

I started by stamping the backpack image, from the Well Played set (Power Poppy), with Versamark, onto some watercolor paper.  I then embossed it with some Black ep (Ranger) and colored it with my Distress Markers and a water pen.  That's it.  I went totally monochromatic!

Check out the following Bloom Brigaders for some more creative inspiration:

So, I've mentioned two new things, but there is one more....
