In the clouds

Before I talk about this card, I'd like to thank all those who have expressed get well wishes to me. I tell ya, stampers have the kindest souls!! I'm slowly getting my energy back. I don't know what Michelle put in my coffee at CHA, but it sure knocked me out!! LOL My DH says I just work myself into a frenzy and when it's all said and done, my body says "enough"!! He's probably right. *grin*...anyway...I'm doing much better. Thanks for your kindness.

Now, for the real reason you're here. I'm so excited about this card. There are 3 firsts for me on this small palette. One, a new image by Flourishes. Michelle gave this gorgeous Clouds image while at CHA. Isn't it fabulous????? I know it will come in handy often. I just inked it up with Aegean Blue VersaMagic Chalk Ink and stamped it onto Kraft cs. EASY and beautiful. I framed it with the Labels 6 Nestabilities Die (Spellbinders) because the shape looked a bit like a cloud to me.

The second new thing for me, is pleating. I've never tried it before. I can be quite intimidated with new techniques because I'm a perfectionist. If I can't get it right in one or two tries, the frustration sends me into a tail spin...LOL It was actually quite fun and easy. I'm really happy with the results. And it was on the first try...WHEW!!

Third, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the Labels 6 Nestabilities Frame. I tried to pick up the shimmer, but was quite unsuccessful. At least you can see a slight color variation. I got to play with some new spray inks at CHA and loved them. Michelle will be carrying some soon in her Stamper's Dream store too!! Fun Stuff!!

The darling bird is from Maya Road's Bird's with Cages mini chipboard set. What a charming variety of birds. Love 'em!! This little guy is covered with My Mind's Eye dp from both Life Stories Collections. In fact, all the paper is from those two collections, and the base is Kraft.

Finally, I used a Marvy punch in the corner, an EK Success border punch, the ribbon is Making Memories, the buttons are PTI, and I used Ivory Burlap String on the buttons. The sentiment is also Flourishes and comes in the Gerber Daisies set. It was stamped with Brilliance Coffee Bean.

That's it for today ya'll!! I hope you're having a fabulous weekend!!
Happy Stamping Everyone!!

CHA Binder #3

Last, but not least, Binder #3. *smile* This one is a bit simpler than the rest. But I love the colors and papers. The dp is all Graphic 45 (LOVE this stuff), with a mat frame of Suede Brown Dark (Prismatics). The Gorgeous flower and frame is another JustRite image from one of their newest released sets called My Garden. It's stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine, embossed with Clear ep, watercolored with Tombows and paper toled. The leaves were made with a PunchBunch leaf punch, and the charm is a Metal Mini Tag by Nunn Designs. It's soooo easy to make because it has a ridge of the shape on the back. So all you have to do is take your card stock, or paper, lay it over the charm and run your stylus around the ridge. You then have the exact sized oval or square to cut out and fit in the charm.

I stamped "CHA" with my Times Roman font (JR) and filled the charm in with some Diamond Glaze (JudiKins). Finally, I added some Rhinestones (Zva Creative and Kaisercraft) and Ribbon (PTI). Everything was ink distressed with Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink).

Here's the inside of each binder, with coordinating papers of course. *wink* I used Trompe Script and Times Roman font Fonts for each one, and Spellbinders' Fancy Tags diecuts. I printed out the "MUST SEE" Vendors with their booth numbers alphabetically and numerically, so it would be easier to navigate the show, and included a notes section to help us remember important facts at the end of the day.

That's it for this week. I leave for CHA today!! Woot!! I'll try to have my top 5 each day of the show!

Happy Stamping friends!!

CHA Binder #2

I'm leaving for CHA, with Stamper's Dream, in two days. Woo-Hoo!! We're looking forward to finding some new, fun stuff for the store, and all the new stuff from the companies that Michelle already carries in the store. I'll be taking photos and sharing them with you here as often as possible too, so check back often.

Here's the second Maya Road Chipboard Binder that I altered for our trip to CHA. All the images used are JustRite this time. I know, shocker!! LOL The gorgeous flowers and their frame are from a newly released set called Plant a Little Love. LOVE these flowers. They're so easy to color, and fun to paper tole! Michelle just got the shipment of these in yesterday, so head on over to Stamper's Dream and check them out!! They're fabulous! Today, I stamped the image with Versamark onto watercolor paper, embossed it with Detailed Black ep, and watercolored it with Tombow markers. The circle frame was stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine directly onto the dp, and embossed with Detailed Clear ep. I used the Times Roman and Trompe Script fonts for the Labels 8 Nestabilities shaped tag. And the oh, so gorgeous paper, is Origins by Basicgrey.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Tomorrow I have my last binder to share with you, and I'll show you how I divided up the inside also.

Happy Stamping my friends!!

CHA Binders

It's Thursday, and time for another CCEE challenge. I stuck with Cindy's sketch as a base, but added a couple of things. Hopefully I won't get the buzzer!! We'd love to have you play along too. Just click HERE to head on over to our CCEE Stamper's Blog.

I leave for CHA this Sat., and am about as excited as I can get. Last year I altered some Maya Road binders for us to take notes in, so I thought I would do it again this year. I will have one to show you tomorrow and Sat. too.

To alter this 6x6 Maya Road Chipboard Binder, I used Urban Tapestry and Slight Alterations (Tim Holtz's Stamper's Anonymous). For my CHA medallion, I turned to my trusty JustRite tools. I used my Vertical Stamper, with Brayton and Trompe Script fonts.

The paper is Basicgrey Periphery and Birchtone Dark Prismatics.

That about sums up today's binder. Check back tomorrow to see another in a totally different style.

We've been getting a lot of storms here in central California. Very rare indeed. I thought I'd share a few photos. 2 of one of the many rainbows we've been seeing, and one of the sunrise over the mountains the next morning. You can click on the photos for a closer look.

If you look closely you can see a double on the right. It's very faint.

Happy Stamping!

Monkey Love

Many of you know I have no great love for monkeys, and because of that I have received many monkey cards and photos from "thoughtful stampers". Boy, there are times when I really feel the love. Julee (Verve) has really enjoyed razzing me about this latest release too. She just had to design a monkey set called Love Monkey....okay....here's where I need ya'll to keep a secret. I really do think this little guy is just the cutest!! I mean, shoot, he's so chubby with a crooked little grin. Who wouldn't love this guy? Even a monkey challenged stamper such as I can't resist him. This was actually the first card I made with the newest released images. Really! And I paired him up with the Be Mine Plain Jane because I thought it would be cute to have him sitting on the arrow. Now the sentiment is actually on top of the arrow, so I colored the arrow only, with a black SU! marker, stamped it, then colored the sentiment and layered it beneath. Since the images are clear, it was easy as pie. Finally, I added a sweet little heart from the Thankful Accents set released last month.

Hope you had a nice weekend. I'm getting ready to head to CHA on Saturday!! Woot! Can't wait!
Happy Stamping ya'll!!
